PRIORITIES

Infrastructure

Paying attention to infrastructure may not be glamorous, yet it’s essential to a well run city.  I contributed to the development of our capital investment plans. Maintaining our streets and transportation systems, water and wastewater projects and downtown revitalization are critical elements.  Just this last year we converted 27,800 square feet of turf to low water use landscape on City property.  We repaired approximately 500 City-owned and maintained sidewalk locations.  According to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission's most recent Pavement Condition Index, the quality of Livermore streets were rated in the top ten of all of the cities in the 9 Bay Area Counties and were tied for the top 2 in Alameda County.

We have close to 100 projects underway:

  • 9 Downtown Revitalization projects

  • 5 Parks & Beautification projects

  • 12 Public Buildings & Safety projects

  • 11 Storm Drain projects

  • 41 Street & Transportation projects

  • 16 Water & Wastewater projects

  • 4 Airport projects

More parking downtown was designated the #1 priority for our residents, and the City Council listed!  The “L” Street parking garage will be opening in the Spring of 2025 and will provide 452 parking spaces with Electric Vehicle, ADA and bicycle spaces. This new structure will introduce new parking technology  that provides added convenience for drivers with displays showing real-time parking availability. A “parking app” will communicate open parking spaces to you on your mobile device.
